I played it a bit more today. And I gotta tell you it's pretty fun. Almost like a limit hold'em game as far a pace. It's fairly easy to double up your money with smart play. And you definitely know what you're up against relatively quickly.

Not too much raising going on. It's basically call station city and what raises are made usually get to take the pot down. You can usually get away with winning by a high pair with your upcards. Not much respect is ever paid to the one down card. Which works well for good players. That's when you can usually take down a pot if you've slowplayed it. And for the most part. Players will go all the way to 5th street hoping to catch their miracle runner.

I'm not sure what other poker sites offer 5-Stud. I play it primarily on the Prima sites. It's not as mentally challenging as some of the other variations, but is an easy way to pad the bankroll.

What are the Prima skins like ?

I hear you can claim the bonuses at each site no matter how many you already have installed ?
Poker is all about the long long long long long long long term . . .

Yeah I've played at 7 Sultans, Royal Vegas, and Wildjack Poker. And was given free money at each site. $10 for the first two with no deposit, and $30 for Wild Jack with a deposit of $20 dollars.

The Gaming Club gave me $15 free. That's another one. The sites are pretty suspicious though. I'm not quite sure where they got their rules from. For instance, in a NL ring game. The last (maybe two) betting rounds the min. bet is twice the big blind. I noticed at NL table last night where a guy bet $1, next guy raised to $5, the next guy raised to $6!!. The min. raise there should be up to $9. These are the kind of strange things that they do. There are a ton of fish on there though, probably because of the free money.

On the topic of 5 card stud, I can't stand that game. It's just a game of luck and trying to draw a card. Everyone in the game was calling all the time just because you're trying to draw for a pair. Let's say you got an ace down and get an ace up for a pair. If someone is showing kings up, and bets it hard at the river, you can't re-raised because you have to expect that he caught his trips or two pair (depending on how many of his cards were dealt to other people). I also played for almost an hour, and never once saw a flush or straight, which should be expected, but still, it's just a crazy game. Very frustrating to me.
"Why does this still seem like gambling to you!?"

I had a friend who played poker with us back when I thought games lik e"Spit in the Ocean" were cool.

He constantly insisted that we play something he called "Five Card Stud". Wanna hear how it's dealt? Okay...

Everyone gets five cards. There's a betting round. Then you show. The end.

5 card stud is like the child's game memory. It's a game about live cards. The most attentive person with the best memory will should win in the long run.
