I just blew over $600 over the past few days at casino arizona in scottsdale. Feeling pretty down, in the past I've played 3/6 at places and come away a pretty nice winner... this time the bad beats just kept coming and coming. To all you limit experts, is 3/6 really that much of a crapshoot? I'm not a limit expert, bu I felt like a played pretty well, without any major mistakes or leaks according to everyone's posts and SSH. Felt like I was getting sucked out on every time I flopped a set or something. So I guess the real question I'm asking is, is 3/6 at the casino really even worth my time? Maybe I just need some encouragement.
I feel like this post belongs in the limit section, B&M, and bad beat stories all at once. Sorry for the rant.

Consider that -100BB is inevitable for just about any mortal player, particularly if the table is really loose/wild. Also consider that the rake for those games can be pretty sick. That being said, it's hard to say you're playing perfect poker...

to answer your question, 3/6 is a crapshoot at a casino. consider it the .5/1 game at party. throw in the huge rake they take its better if you play online.
Casino play should be at least 5/10.

casino arizona rakes $1 for the jackpot before the cards are even dealt. then they rake another $4 if the pot is big. add in a $1 tip and you are LOSING $6 every time you drag a pot.
the tables are 9max instead of 10max so you are paying blinds a lot more often but playing roughly the same starting hands.
the kill pot activates every once in a while and the betting goes to $6/$12. capping pre flop with KK (as i did once) means forking out $24 to see that ace high flop. you can easily end up paying $60 just to find out if your hand is good.
they don't use $5 chips, only $1's. so every pot looks absolutely gigantic. this feeds the fishes' greed and makes it impossible for them to fold any hand no matter how bad. then they suck out trips or 2pr or a running gutshot the river.
these are just some of the factors that make casino arizona a loser's lounge.
play at fort mcdowell next time. while many of these factors are in play there as well, the rake is only $2.
