CO is playing pretty loose and taking weak stabs whenever checked to. I felt like I needed to raise to protect my hand here given how nasty the board is and I don't think he ever bets a set or straight this weak. I think I just take it down right here often enough...
Is that logic incorrect? Should I be lead/folding here? If I c/r and get repopped I basically have to fold but if I c/c I'm getting owned on like any turn so...I dunno im so unsure of what to do.

when you suggest folding pre do you mean to the raise or would you not complete here in the sb?

I used to fold like 95% in the SB and was finally convinced that was too nitty. I think this type of hand will have you in spots where you flop well and are still dominated/freerolled by stuff like QJT9/JT98 or As9s87.
This kind of flop is terrible because there is already a straight and obviously there are draws to higher straights, there's a flush draw and you could improve to 8s full of 9s or something and be drawing dead -- the board pairing 9 or T is pretty scary and will be an action-killer unless you are beat.

my thoughts on completing were if I flop a set my hand is double suited so that gives me extra opportunity to flop backdoor draws or flush draw + set which will add additional equity to my hand, plus I get a good price to see a flop being in the SB.
If the flop comes down in such a way where I only flop a flush draw I wouldn't be putting any bets in. I had this plan going into the hand but unfortunately this has to be the absolute worst board for me to flop bottom set on and I wasn't prepared for it lol.

One thing I'd recommend is study hands where people stack off. Look at hands where you have like the nuts + redraw and are still getting crazy action -- it'll generally be people are playing hands like this, they flop a set + draw and you have them annihilated.

QdJdTs9c 81.77%

pre is fine, I would fold HU OOP vs a good raiser but multi way it should be played.
I'd call one bet then give up for there, maybe bet a turn diamond on the river if he checks it. c/c another bet if board pairs
