Playing 6 max without reads is like taking a piss with the lights off. You're going to end up spraying too much and will probably smell a little too.

Hand 1: I bet this river almost always in a short-handed game.
Hand 2: I think bet/fold and check/fold are better river lines in this spot. Do UCY?

I don't think a lot of players in that game will raise a worse hand on the river often enough to call without a read.

If it's a passive post-flop player who'll check behind pairs, I'd rather check/fold this one. Anyway, the UTG limp should tell us a lot about his hand...

Hand 1: Damn I do miss valuebets.... Well ok Im learning SH.

Hand 2: Why is bet/fold a better line. B/C we can fold a few hands that have us beat..? ( the way the hand went I induced a bluff from QT) but I wouldn't have posted If it wasn't b/c I was in serious doubt about my river call.

I don't even like hand2, I just simply avoid playing an underpair aggressively against 2 overcards, but folding the river is atrocious after going that far
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

The only reason I check the river in hand 2 is if I plan on calling a bet. I dont want to get raised on the river and be forced to call another bet and the small likelihood of inducing a bluff makes it a profitable play.

Anyways he was something like 60/25/2 so very laggish and therefore I called the river bet.

how about rest of the hand bet flop: I'll do this very often/always here

Turn: I still think I need to bet/fold..?

One more hand for analysis.

Question is how do I play turn and river.? :

I continue bet on turn since I picked a gutshot and should MP be on a flush draw then I'll not let him have any freecard.

Hand 4: The flop raise sucks and the turn fold is worse. Way ahead/behind. Let him put as many chips into the pot as he wants. If he checks it's an easy bet.

Maybe. Most bad smaller stakes players expect to be called here, hence tend to make moves on earlier streets and slow play big hands.
