4-8 B&M:

2 hands where i started as the better hand preflop but was hugely behind on flop..but caught up by the river. Was I incorrect to chase on both hands. The pots were both raised preflop and I didnt wanna give up until the turn. and by the turn i was hooked to the pot. any comments ??

Hand 1: hero has A-Ks in UTG+2
Preflop: hero raises, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, BB calls.
Flop: K-9-9 (after the 3 bet i know both made trips..lets try to spike a king )
Hero bets, MP1 raises, MP2 3 bets, Hero calls, MP1 calls.
Turn: K-9-9-A ( i am still behind..but lets try to spike a K or A )
Hero checks, MP1 checks, Mp2 bets, Hero calls, MP1 calls.
River: K-9-9-A-A
Hero bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls

MP1 shows 5-9s
MP2 shows A-9o
Hero wins the pot.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Hand 2: Kill pot 8-16
Hero has K-Qs spades in MP2

Preflop: UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, Hero raises, SB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls

Flop: Q-7-4 (rainbow flop) ( SB hit a set maybe..but she has made some stupid moves earlier..maybe AQ. i am definitely seeing the turn here as i have backdoor flush draw also)
SB bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls, SB 3 bets, MP1 calls, Hero calls

Turn: Q-7-4-2 (hero has four to a flush now)
SB bets, MP1 calls, hero calls

River: Q-7-4-2-J (hero completes flush)
Hero bets, SB calls, MP1 calls

SB shows 4-4
MP1 shows Q-8o
Hero wins the pot.

Been awhile since I played live; but here goes:

Hand 1: Muck it on the flop. You don't have odds to draw to a K, plus you could get caught in a raising war between the two. If you make it to the turn I think you have to call; you picked up 2 extra outs and are guaranteed to get 2 calls on the river if you improve. Pretty close though.

Hand 2: I don't know why you called here; you think you're up against a set (leaving you drawing dead to runner runner); but you call anyways?? Best case you have 5.5 outs (SB has bottom 2). I fold and wait for a better spot. However I have never played in a game with a kill, so perhaps there are some factors I have not accounted for.

so in hand 1 you are saying i should check fold on flop ? I cant possibly fold the flop when I raised preflop after like playing 1 hand per hour and when raised on flop right. So when I see the turn automatically then I have 4 outs (2 aces and 2 kings...in this case i only had 3 but they are betting their trips so no need to be certain they have ace or king in hands right...).

I think i am getting 16:1 to catch an ace or king on the river. My flop cold call was the worst for sure. However, I hadnt played 1 hand in past 1 hour (or something..) and didnt wanna give up before the turn.

wrong logic ??

for hand 2, I was the preflop raiser here too. I just had the feeling that if i am playing 1 hand every 20-30 mins and raising prelop and fold every time being bet into..would be horrible for table image. since this is a live game and you play 3-4 hours straight with same batch of players, table image matters. so i didnt wanna fold before the turn . and by turn of course the pot odds were there.

btw, i probably wouldnt have laid down even if i didnt catch my flush. the SB made some moves like bluffing and shit before in the table against other players (which is weird because by my studies, old ladies dont usually bluff...).

online i would play both hands different maybe but I havent played online in a loooooooong time.

If you KNOW they both have trips this becomes an odds calculation. Even assuming the original raiser will just call if you call you are still putting in 2sb to win 17sb. You aren't getting remotely close to good enough odds to chase a 2-outer. So if you had a good enough read to make you certain that they both had trips, this is an easy fold.

LOL! They're probably the best at it for that very reason. Who would expect it? I will say that I do see a lot of geriatrics playing B&M low limit, and they don't screw around too much. Fairly tight and passive. If I get 3-bet on the flop it usually represents 2 pair or a set.
If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
