Wish I could tell ya. Tried this game last night and got smoked. Wish I had a clue so I could rape some noobs. Too bad noobs is me. I think it must be a good fold, because you need a 4 or at least a 5 to call?
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

elipsesjeff is an unknown quantity at this point
Check/call the river. Not that I have any idea about this game but villain only calls you with a better hand. I don't know if standing pat with an 87 is such a great idea either

On the last round, the pot is fairly large and he is getting good odds that I'm snowing (although a snow is pretty unlikely given how I played the hand), so he very well may pay me off with a pretty wide range. However, if I check, he will show down virtually all the hands that pay off a river bet, and bet when I'm beat. It's also highly unlikely he's going to try to bluff out a pat hand (it's obvious I'm checking with the intention of calling after the final draw). So, I felt that bet-folding was better than check-calling.

(Also, I'm new to this game, but I'm fairly sure that not standing pat with an 8 after the second draw against an opponent who is still drawing would be atrocious. Why would I draw? I have the best hand here almost always.)

He is raising me with a smooth 8 at a minimum. I think I probably require one myself to call the raise.

I think you played it fine, althought we could debate calling river with the odds it was laying.
