saffi is stud fish and he's not very good at 2-7 either, seen him make a think river raise and ridiculously bad call earlier with an 876 against a pat hand who bet/3bet the end. Other player seems decent actually:

Seems like a fold. Not a great hand vs what seems like a tight player. I'd consider breaking the 8 on the turn

I agree it seems like a fold. Tbh I probably wouldn't 3bet pre. I think if you had the 257xx pre its definitely a 3bet but I like to have the 2.
I don't think I agree w/breaking the 8 though, cause you're only drawing to 4 outs to improve your hand and probably less than that cause its very likely at least one of them has a 2. But I can see breaking it if your thinking its a fold to the river bet anyway. If I'm planning to play a lot vs these players I might call on the end just to see what he's staying pat on and betting the river (but it definitely is a strong bet, worst hand he prob bets is 86 or 76?). But in the long run its a fold I think. Idk, fun game, still learning obviously...

We play A5 at my house because it was less confusing to teach, except now I always think I can draw to an A so it worked out worse for me.
You should just muck instead of drawing or standing pat. Good for metagame.

But I'm getting 8.5:1 and the other player can overcall with worse!!
I wish it was some simple math equation

Probably b/c you play against people with half a brain who would c/c 9-7 and not bet it into 2 people, one who stood pat and the other who drew 1.
I adjusted my reads afterwards.

During the game I'd call because of the odds, but not be ecstatic. Good to know he only seemed like a good player.

Wouldn't this be a check-fold except under extreme circumstances?
About the actual hand, I don't like passing up these odds when I don't known an opponent well, so I'd need solid evidence (that is, taken from a large sample) that he's a nit before folding. Besides, you can potentially gain some useful information by calling, even if it's not the best play in terms of immediate expectation.

I will probably raise after 2nd draw, if he did not make his hand you are ahead and if he made a rough hand you may get him to break it
Once he stood pat I dont think your 87 is good, the problem with breaking it is that you have the 2 only to draw to, I think this is a fold

Predraw is some LOL spew. When a decent player raises from early position I'm never 3-betting them unless I have a 1-card draw or 27 plus a third wheel card.
Breaking the 34578 is bad because you only have one card that improves you like TLR said.
Raising for a free showdown (and folding to a 3bet) >>>>> calling and standing pat because if you raise you force out saffi who is drawing live against you.
