Huge fucking calling station. I didn't realize the turn paired the board and it kinda froze me.

That J on the river is a really, really nice card. He needs exactly 22/72/J7/J2 to have a boat here, and I doubt he has any of them. I would throw out a bet that a trips (J or 7's) would call. Maybe $3-4.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

value betting is mandatory in a vacuum, but you also have a calling station read

pretty horrendous check

edit: that was a bit harsh. I worked for a long time on value betting and I still miss opportunities (and sometimes go too far). That was a clear case though. all PLO players should work on river value-betting to go to the next level

This is the thought I missed at the table. If he has a 7 there's ~20% chance he catches the boat on the river right? Had it not been a J I like the $4 bet, folding to a push. Given the J I should have potted the river (with my read).

Yeah if you read him for a calling station with a lower flush, pot it for sure. Now that I look more closely at the action it looks like he did hit a flush rather than having trips.
