Where can I find soft 1/2 gamse on the net with a more "plalyer friendly" rake than party skins? I know they are out there, but don't know the best place to put in some money to play 1/2.

Anybody with 10K+ hands at 1/2 have any recommendations?

I think he means, PP isn't rake friendly. That's pretty obvious to anyone

Interpoker....Better rake structure and worse players than party at 1/2.

True Poker, their strange blinds makes for very loose 1/2 tables. Last night I had a table where you could see 8 people pf several times per orbit. And with rakeback from FTR it's good even if their is not to many tables running.

I would recommend Interpoker and its skins. Rake is 5% rounded down to the nearest $.25 (so no rake for pots under $5). They also have a no-flop no-drop policy.

Also, there is an FTR Rakeback program for Caribbean Sun (an Interpoker skin), and they have a good $40-a-month bonus. I think it's 500 raked hands in a calendar month and they automatically put $40 into your account. You can take advantage of this every month.

Players are not as terribly loose as PartyPoker players, but just as weak in terms of playing ability. So the variance you experience at Interpoker is less than the variance at PartyPoker, but the profit is about as good.

I believe PokerStars works the same way for their 1/2 games. I could be wrong as I haven't played 1/2 there in a while

sorry I didn't explain more but I think pty has one of the worst rakes around, most sites run .25/$5 but pty runs .50 for $10, $75 > then $12, $1 for $20 > $1

So basically where sites would rake .25/$5 party rakes that extra .25 off your ass at 12 instead of 15... So you're paying .75 a lot more often at pty

This is what I was meaning. I know the rake is high on the party skins. I want to play 1/2, but am looking for a site with a lower rake that I can possibly get a rakeback on.

I have the Interpoker software downloaded and almost deposited, but wanted to get some opinions from othe FTR members first.

Better go do the carribean sun with rakeback then if I where you...

Rakeback is well worth it once you start playing a lot of hands.

I've played Inter as well, and I'll agree with "thenonsequitor" who siad that the players might not be as loose, but they sure do suck postflop on inter poker. (At the micro levels that is)

Got the PM. Thanks, PFan.

I'm easily rolled for 2/4 and want to play it eventually but want to get some hands in at 1/2 first. I'm not too concerned with moving up limits as quickly as possible as I am with developing my game at lower levels and making sure I'm playing solidly before moving up. I would like to get in at least 20k hands at 1/2 before going to 2/4.

I think I can play 2/4 and be profitably, but psychologically am not ready to potentially experience a -300BB swing. I have been able to avoid any swings of more than -200 BB playing smaller limits. I'm assuming this is because of the terrible play of the people I play against, and not soley my abilities asa player. This reasoning would lead me to believe that as the player's get better, those swings will become more prevalent.

Dan:

Try Pokerroom. I think there are some rakebacks out there, but I don't know fur sure. 1/2 play there is incredibly weak...
