OK here's the situation
Reads: none on SB
BB is a calling station who got a large stack with trips(not a set) on a drawy board AI on the river.
6max
Hero (CO) $24
SB $18
BB covers
2 limps, Hero calls with :Ad: , BTN calls, SB completes, BB checks
Flop ($1.50):
SB bets $1.50, BB raises to $6, 2 folds, Hero calls, 1 fold, SB goes all-in, BB folds, Hero calls.
I am asking about the cold-call on the flop. I really had no idea what to do. Looking back pushing seems much better than calling because I am looking at about 33% equity with a lot of dead money. However, I felt the pot needed to remain mulitway b/c if my push were to fold 1 player out it would make the move -EV.
However, calling the flop has no plan whatsoever for the turn. Except, pray for miracles.
Really a tough spot I should have avoided PF but just pretend I have AKQ3 double suited.

I don't mind this hand preflop since you will be second last (or even last if the button folds) to act. Like you said, pushing is better than calling. Take your 33%+ equity and add in some fold equity if the BB is raising light (say top+bottom pair, a lower flush draw or worse) and decides to let it go.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

I call pre with hands like this, especially if the table is bad post-flop (likely at 25NL).
Is folding the flop terrible? If Villain has 2 pair we're a little behind and I think the pot is laying just about the odds we need, thus it would be a 0eV play. If villain has an over-pair we're doing well. In this situation it sounds like pushing is best because BB is a holdem transfer donkey.
Without a read though I would expect to see 2pair or a set a lot because people aren't this aggressive with draws.

I don't think there's anything wrong with folding the flop to a bet and a pot sized raise before the action even gets to us.

I must admit I was 3tabling at the time and really thought I had 2 ways to make a straight. Looking at it now only the 5 was my gin card, and thats only 3 more outs.
My conclusion: Flop push>Flop call.
Call has no plan for the turn with nearly a full psb left behind. Pushing could theoretically fold out top 2 and bottom set which would be nice.
Reults: I spike a diamond on the turn...rivers pairs the board.

pre flop call is fine
Pushing is OK. But there isn't really any fold equity to be had here at these stakes. I like min-raising here. I think it gives us the best chance of getting BB to come along for the ride because it might scare SB from sticking it all in. And if SB *does* put it all in, it makes your decision trivially easy.

Im not looking for FE, Im looking to get 2:1 on my money against a set.
Im trying to find a line that does that. If I cant I guess folding is the better option.
I think fold>raise>call
Cliff notes: I do the worst out of 3
