and my personal favorite...

a raise gives you information:
- did i get reraised, hmm, probably AA - JJ or AK. with no reraise, it's probably safe to assume no big made pairs, so, you can play your TT on the low board pretty hard, regardless of whether you hit your set.

also (as fnord said), if you raise preflop, you're less worried about someone holding a six.
