This reminds me of a turbo S&G I was playing last week. My wife was asleep and I had made it ITM with big stack. Kid wakes up and I have to attend to him, so I sit out. Come back 3 hands later to be short stack. End up busting out in 3rd. I look at the hand history later and see that I was dealt KK and AQ while I was gone.  Oh well!
It works out for our family, she stays happy and I get to play. Sounds like you've got it figured out this time around, but for everyone else, just remember that there'll be times where they HAVE to come first.
