Well they're more expensive than $1,000, but Trinity Tables makes some real nice octagon tables. They have regular and large sizes.
If you can build it yourself you'd save alot of money. And it'd be just perfect.
I myself decided that my dining room table is too nice and big not to be used. So I'm going to build a folding hold'em top. I'm going to use 3/4 inch MDF and cover it with the black poker cloth I already have. And I'm gonna give everyone about a 6 inch border to keep their chips and drinks on the hard wood of the table. So basically, the inner part of the table will be a piece of wood about 68"x32" covered in black poker felt. I'll take pics when I get around to building it.
