I'm guessing, and I'm no lingo expert, but the reason they call it Movember is that they have simply switched the N for an M in a cunning play on word letters/words rather than they Aussies calling it a mov........those crazy Antipodeans....

Yah, we're super crazy mate!
A mustache is commonly called a "mo" in Australia. Actually I thought the term "mo" was used much wider than Australia, but maybe I'm wrong.
Hence, we cleverly change "November" to "mo"-vember, or simply "Movember".
