Been using various incarnations of Win7 Ultimate for quite a while now (from first beta all the way to gold master), and I have to say that the most recent version, that is the one that is coming out on the 22nd (which has been around for about a month now), is the most stable windows I have ever used, so yes, its essentially what Vista should have been, goddamn marketing people.
