I think that the "rude and inconsiderate " responses are both a benefit and a hindrance to the forum. A hindrance in that noobs can find the tone a bit aggressive and put them off. Is that a good thing ?. Quite possibly.
The benefits are that it helps sort the wheat from the chaff. People willing to expose themselves to some harsh criticism are willing to truly put the hard work in and learn the game and work on there own game. Its also character building and helps to build up a degree of immunity to events occuring at the tables.
You're complaining about the rude responses detering you from being a contributing member yet you've been a member for a year and clocked up 6 posts (most of which have been in the thread you are complaining about) which is slightly illogical.

following on from this point, the most annoying thing about the 10 post rule for me was about the hand historys which would be a more logical thing to change than "cool siggys" and posting pics which could be abused. After alls said and done 10 posts on strategy for someone aiming to improve their poker is extremely easy to chieve.
