I've got something new for me to work on. Bet sizing in certain sistuations.
I've read so many threads where the OP is told to bet pot, bet pot, shove river....b/c the villain is a limp/station.
Well I find plenty of players at 2nl w/ stats like 60/3/.5 and I just cant seem to bet the pot.
Part of the problem might be the starting pot value? With 3 limoers in front I typically pump it to $.14 and get lets say one caller. The pot is already at $.32 and when I pot it, they typically fold. Sometimes the board is wet, sometimes dry, it just seems that I am not getting paid for them often when I am confident that I'm ahead.
So on the weekend I tried reducing the size of my bets only when the board is safe (no draws, no overs that frighten me).
It seemed to work better. I started betting about 2/3 the pot and I seemed to get at least a call on the flop and I feel I made some extra money.
I dont know....I'll have to play around with this....
Its just that for the last few weeks, the $$ I have earned from my nonshowdown hands is dismal and I wonder if this is a start to fix it.
I may ask in the BC for advice but if someone reading this can help me out it would be great...
I will note that against a player who calls down with anything, then yes, its pot, pot shove. I just personally dont get many of them at a table. Its a lot of limpers who bet/call light. It seems like if I show too much aggression then they give up.
