What's the purpose of discouraging a theoretical discussion? I'd expect most of your difficult in-game decisions to be at least partly influenced by your knowledge of fundamental game theory, which you have accumulated over the years.
Most of us don't consciously use theory while playing, but it's certainly a useful tool in hand analysis, especially when we try to figure out our perceived ranges and frequencies against an unknown good player.
