Start with the Beginners Digest...Read and learn everything, especially BR management, and practice it(sounds like you should start at 2NL, and youre underrolled).
About your question, I would say( and I dont have a lot of experience, so you can wait for advice from better players here) full ring is better to start, since you will be playing less hands and with good preflop play you will be OK. If you like it more, you can then go to 6max when you feel comfortable playing more hands and develop good postflop play. I know some will say play whatever game you like more, but this was just my opinion.
