1. I try to balance my blocking bets against solid opps when I've c-bet a draw and it hits the turn or the river. I bet a little less than 1/2-pot and hope villain thinks it's a block bet and raises. Another good situation is with a full house after a flush or straight draw completes. Blocking bets are generally profitable against less aware, weak, straightforward players who won't bluff raise.
2. Some characteristics of players you want to be careful floating: low c-bet frequency, high went to showdown %, willingness to fire second barrels.
