Folding the A-J was absolutely the correct thing to do....too many new players would have called there. If you are going all In with ace jack you want to be the one doing the pushing, and let them worry about what you have and if they should call. 40/80 seems like and odd blind level (not sure if I've seen that before) however you still have 10 BB left in your stack no reaso to get into a 3-way AI with A-J....if you had 3-4 BB left my answer may be different, depending on how the action went table reads and size of the other stacks.
