Bigspenda's Micro Stakes Poker Video 1

Overall Rating:

Description:  In this video I play 2 tables of $5nl 6max without the use of a Heads-Up Display (HUD). This means I really have to pay attention and try to generalize some reads on my opponents. Things start out great, I quickly go up 2 buyins only to get involved in a large pot near the end of the session worth over 550bbs. Overall I play very solid and even include a review of my session in PokerTracker afterwards. Click here to discuss this video further in the FTR Poker Forum.

“Thanks! Great video” by lytstephe, 29 Mar 2009

First thanks for the video. Most stuff pretty basic but good reinforcement. I liked when you checked your AK on an A77 and your reasoning for it, even tho it turned out unfortunately at the end. At 28:40 you were mentioning something about understand the meaning of betting in the field twice, and kinda drifted off. I was wondering if you could expand on that please. (what does it mean if someone OOP bets, I cold call, and then he bets on the turn again?) At 38:26 I would like to hear more detailed explanation of why is it a good c-bet board with 3s3h2h on the board (you had 8cKc). I would think its a bad c-bet board because flush draw could call, straight draw could call, overpair could call, even overcards might call, so IMO its a bad c-bet board unless for value, since there is very little fold equity there it seems. I would like to hear your comments on my thoughts.

“Lots of Lessons Here” by DoanDiggy, 08 Oct 2008

In addition to the expected very strong play, we also get a nice lesson in taking losses in stride, including one perfectly-played hand that was rivered and one unfortunate group of community cards that was impossible to get away from.

“Nice realistic game and lots of info” by parky, 23 Sep 2007

I enjoyed this video as I watched your second first this reinforced things I learned in the first one. I really never thought of using hand histories during play to help analyse play. Poker Tracker use at the end was very enlightening also, I can really see now how you can use it to improve your game.

Like - Aggressive playing with small pairs, 3-betting 9s, 3-betting QKo in blinds, rarely limping, betting a lot post flop until meeting resistance. - Showed the importance of playing with proper bankroll with the big pot AK hand. -Overall the video showed real everyday grinding and not just showing playing AA or KK.
