“Worth watching” by Erpel, 05 Jul 2008

Rating:  4/5

Audio good (much better than previous). I especially liked the beginning discussion of which stats you had opted to use and why and how you use them. It might be worthwhile during quiet periods commenting on hands you are not - comment on what the boards are good/bad for - comment on what hand ranges you expect opponents to be playing (against each other). Very viewable, and a nice peek inside your head - not too terribly instructional, but worth watching for a beginner like me.

I missed a little more enthusiasm and energy in this one. I did at times get the impression that the player was not sure about how to play hands and how to do the video recording thing at all. Overall this made me wonder if I do watch a successful / experienced player or not. (I am not a FTR regular, so I may of course be making a jerk out of myself by not knowing TrainerJim) I did not agree with some of the reasoning behind playing hands, and I often missed the player explaining more why he chose certain actions. He could also have filled the "dead air" time with more explanations of why he chose to display the stats he has in his HUD. Still, my thanks go out to the author for putting up the work of doing it - I can hardly complain not having contributed anything myself.
