Poker is a game of decisions. Certain decisions cost you money, other decisions make you money. At any given time, you are able to choose from many different decisions, all based on different things, even though all you really can do is raise, call or fold. How much do you think it would effect your game if your ability to make decisions was damaged or blocked? IMMENSELY!!

Many non-poker related problems can effect how you play. You need a full poker mindset which includes strategy, controlling your tilt AND having a clear mind. How much worse do you think you will play if the whole time at the table you are thinking about problems with your girlfriend, or finances, taxes, sports, any real life distractions? A lot worse...

Poker takes focus and dedication, by letting that slip up, you will lose money. Plain and simple, if you're not paying as much attention, you may still win money, but you won't be winning as much as you can. And that is losing money.
