World Series of poker main event.
A $10,000 no limit holdem freezeout tournament held every summer in the Reno casino in Vegas.
It is the biggest and most prestigious poker tournament in the world, and the winner of the tournament is sort of considered the 'poker world champion'
Since Chris MoneyMaker's main event win in 2003 the WSOP ME attracts at least 6000 players each year
