Three of A Kind

Three of A Kind

A five card hand containing three cards of the same rank and two cards of different ranks. For example, a player holding As Ac Ad Kh 7s has three of a kind. This is not to be confused with a set, which is a player holding a pocket pair and flopping a card of the same rank.

Example: I made three of a kind on the turn, so I bet and then shoved the river.
