Rathole

To remove chips from play. This usually illegal in tournaments and at best is considered bad etiquette in other games. Ratholing is not allowed in casinos that enforce the table stakes rule, as it prevents players from winning back chips lost to the ratholing player.

Example: He ratholed 50 chips from his stack to limit his losses if he was put all in.
