A misdeal occurs whenever cards are dealt incorrectly such that the integrity of the game or deck is compromised. When this occurs the action taken can vary from simply reshuffling the deck to making sure the deck contains the right number of cards as well as others depending on the severity of the misdeal.
Example: The player that was utg was only given one card to play with when it became his turn to act. After announcing this, the dealer called a misdeal and collected all the cards.
