Main pot

Main pot

When a player goes all-in, the portion of the pot that all players are eligible for. If additional bets are made, they go into a side pot that the all-in player is not eligible for.

Example: Player 1 goes all-in, player 2 raises, and player 3 calls. Player 1 is eligible for the main pot only, consisting of his all-in bet and the calls of the other 2 players. The raise of player 2 and the called raise by player 3 go into a side pot which player 1 is not eligible to collect.
