Late position

Late position

Players who will act after other players act in the betting. Usually refers to players on the button or in the cut-off. Players in late position have an advantage because they have the most information about the holdings of the other players; thus, many poker strategy books recommend that players play a wider range of hands in these positions.

Example: Hero is in the cut-off. He is in late position.
