High card

High card

The worst hand in poker. A hand with no pair, no straight, and no flush. Thus, "king high" is a card with five unmatched cards, the highest rank being a king. The only hands that a high card hand beats are other high card hands with a lower rank.

Example: Hero holds AJ and the community cards are K7642, with no flush. Villain holds QT and does not have a flush. Hero wins the hand, as his ace high beats Villain's king high.
