Going South

Going South

To remove winnings from the table, but continue playing. This is mainly a reference used in brick and mortar games, as most poker sites have measures that disable this tactic.

Example: If you watch High Stakes Poker season 4, a couple of players accuse Freddie Deeb of going south because he leaves the table for some time, and it appears some of his chips are missing.
