Chip count

Chip count

The amount of money that a player has in poker chips and cash (where cash plays) on the table. In live poker, in certain circumstances (for instance, if another player goes all-in), a player is entitled to ask for a chip count, and depending on casino policy, either the player or the dealer will count the chips.

Example: "He shoved and I had him covered, but some of his chips were hidden, so I asked for a chip count."
