Calling the clock

Calling the clock

In live poker, asking for a casino employee to come to the table and place a time limit on another player's decision.

In online poker, the "clock" is automatic-- a player is given a certain amount of time to make a decision or the software will act automatically.

Example: "He was taking several minutes to decide whether to call my all-in, so I called the clock on him."
