In any texas hold em game, and in several other poker variants, player's will alternate posting the small blind
and big blind
. (Mainly referred to as bb.) In ring games, these values are constant and the big blind
is usually about twice the small blind
(some exceptions include games with a 10c and 25c blinds as well
as games with $2 and $5 blinds). In these games a standard
buy in is 100BBs. In tournament type games, players each start with a specific number of blinds, and the value of the blinds increases as the tournament progresses.
Example: I wanted to quit before I had to post my next Big Blind.
