If, like me, you love films, you'll prob have a few but try and narrow it down to just one.
Here's mine: the chest opening-arm-severing-head-stretching-off-the-body-onto-the-floor-then-sprouting-legs bit in The Thing. I remember thinking 'WTF! I ain't never seen shit like this before.' Nor have I since. Never been equalled. |

ha, I was so into all the 80's B movies when I was in middle school. The Thing was certainly the best by far.
I think the scene I most vividly remember is early in Equilibrium, when they are doing a raid on the thought criminals (or whatever they call them) and Christian Bale sweeps the room all by himself in the most badass way possible. Def top 5 coolest action sequences ever.
starts at 3:30 or so:

| There's so many to choose from in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest but I guess it'd be the blackjack scene. It goes from about 5:00 to 7:30 in this clip. |

I was flipping channels on like and TCM or some other old movie station came up and some chick took her shirt off and it showed her boobies. I was like hell fucking yeah.
Even in this day and age when boobies are just a click away, surprise boobies are still awesome. |

honestly, i think unforgiven has one of my favorite endings of all time. how great is clint eastwoods line here...
Gene Hackman: "Well sir you are a cowardly son of a bitch. You just shot an unarmed man!"
Clint Eastwood: "I guess he should've armed himself." |

I read somewhere once that he was about to get fired from the movie and they were going to reshoot all his scenes using someone else. But then he went and absolutely nailed that scene and all of the sudden he became the best thing in the movie. |

milkshake scene in there will be blood
*spoiler alert*
sequence at the end of no country for old men. If the car crash had killed him it would have hinted at some sort of unseen force of justice, however he just gets a non life threatening injury. This along with the off camera non celebrated death of the protagonist infers that there simply is no order and even that there is no greater power or god.
*spoiler alert* |

Gotta be the:
5th Element.
One of the umpteen montage collages they do where 8 things are going on at once to music.
Milla Jovovich is kicking the shit out of the dog-aliens while pala lavuna (spelling?) Is singing techno opera... One of my fave scenes of all time. |

This reminds me of the thread about movies/films you're embarrassed to like. dunno about the rest but I'm secure enough not to be embarrassed.
Dunno if your Ghost comment was a level but it doesn't mean you're gay. Only the insecure will think that. I chose The Thing but it was a close call between that and ET saying goodbye. |

omg that movie tilted me. with him in it and having heard it was good i was really disappointed sitting and waiting for something to happen through the whole movie.
for me:
1) the elevator scene in the departed
2) the scene in hackers where they drool over technologies such as the 14400 bps modem.
3) "what the poop is so funny about me?" goodfellas
4) back to the future when he first meets doc in the past (great movie, but why the poop would this scene be special? got me...)
5) any scene from the major leagues movies with bob uecker in the booth.
6) A guy getting shot to pieces in robocop. at the time my parents said i was too young to watch R rated movies, but a friends mom let us watch this. it was the first scene like that i had seen and stuck with me.
i completely fail every time i'm asked to pick my top anything. i always end up with a handful that i can't narrow down, but the elevator scene is the first that comes to mind. |

| The bit in Fight Club where Brad Pitt holds a convenience store worker called Raymond at gunpoint, telling him that unless he does what he wants to do with his life, he'll hunt him down and kill him. It's one of those strangely liberating moments when you find yourself wishing someone would do the same to you. |

- In "Pretty Peaches" when Peaches' mom catches Peter North peeping in her bedroom and ends up helping him out with his acute case of lover's nuts. "Why should I? You've been a bad boy. Hmmm.. Maybe there is something nice you could do for Mrs Goldblum..." My earliest memory of porn.
- The Matrix lobby scene
- Saving Private Ryan omaha beach scene
- end of trailer fight scene in Kill Bill vol2 when Kiddo tears whatshername's (black mamba?) other eye out
- Life of Brian end scene (lolkamikazes)
- in one of the Asterix cartoons (Asterix goes to Britain? not sure about the english title) where a roman soldier has gotten drunk on wine and magic potion. Enter Obelix. Roman: "Hey you two fatties, you want a piece of me?" Obelix: "There aren't two fatties, there's just one, and HE'S NOT FAT!" (then proceeds to kick the roman's ass). My translation is probably not spot on but w/e.
fake edit: Oh, did you say just one? |

Same goes for Risky Business when Cruise's pal gives him the WTF speech. A mind blowing revelation in such a light 'n' breezy film just made it even more astounding. |
