It was only a $5 sng but out of the 10 I've played at Stars it's the first I've won.
I was the short stack the whole tourney but became monster chip leader with 3 people left.
Out of 10 SNG's I've been in the money in 5 of them so I like PokerStars $5 SNG's a lot. |

congrats!!
I like them too, played 3 single table tourneys so far, took second in two of them.
i actually think they are easier than the $1 five table tourneys |

Maybe/Probably not. But it's all about starting somewhere!
There will inevitably be troughs where u can't seem to do anything right, but also spells where u can't seem to do anything wrong. So long as u are prepared for this both (a) financially and (b) mentally, u'll be fine.
u should be looking to consolidate your game and get to the stage where u are consistently beating the $5s and then move up. Look to get your ROI up to ~30-40% over a considerable sample size and go for it.
It's all about small steps ..... |

Didn't wanna start another topic, but I finally won my first $6/.50 Turbo PokerStars SnG after so many freakin 2nd's and 3rd. Man it's sweet to win that first one.
All I can say is heads up, roll the dice if you get pushed AI. I didn't mind rolling the dice if I was the one pushing with a semi-decent hand, but like I think I read in ripptyde's post, most hands heads up are at most a 6 to 4 dog unless it's a monster hand. So don't be afraid to call. Besides most people slowplay monsters if they got em.
I won with J7s vs. K9o by hitting a 7. |
