Basically, this couple are looking to adopt a child and they wind up adopting a piece of tree. The tree comes to life and they look after it. Only then, the "kid" starts to eat everything, including a cat and the mailman. The only thing it doesn't eat are cabbages.

That sounds brilliant! Like a swedish wood-based Eraserhead
The worst film I have ever seen is called Son Frere (french for 'my brother', i think). I went to see it with my girlfriend, who suggested it because it is:
a) french
b) arty
c) subtitled
and she knows i like stuff like that...
however... the story was about a man who:
a) was dying of a terminal illness
b) was chronically depressed due to (a)
c) didn't like his brother and had to make up with him before he died
c) was homosexual
d) was frequently naked, whether for hospital purposes or gay purposes
I have never seen so much depressed and dying man-ass in my life. |

roffle...that makes for some very bad movie right there.
i actually liked some of the movies listed, like watership down was ok, based on an absolute classic children's book.
but here's a hearty 2nd to that bedazzled vote. |

Holy shit. Is that the one where the young man turns into the young lady in the middle, or vice versa? If so, I watched it in film study class in college. Holy shit. |

| how can someone list 5 movies as the worst movie theyre ever seen? that i dont get. there are a lot of movies being listed here that are supposed to be 'bad', such as dude where's my car. as for the worst movie i've seen, all i can think of right now is solaris, with george clooney. it was long and completely uninteresting, unentertaining drivel. it probably wasnt the worst movie ive ever seen, but it will do for now. |

Great movie. |
yah... I used to be really into B movies. They are great because they are good because of how bad/cliched they are. If you are new to B movies and want to get your feet wet, start with Evil Dead or Evil Dead 2 ( the sequel is the same movie, just a bigger budget I believe. The true sequel is Army of Darkness, which is completely kick ass. The main character in the Evil Dead movies is umm.. forget his first name.. something Campbell, he actually has a cameo in the second spider man movie, hes the usher at the theatre that doesnt let peter parker in because hes late. Another good one is Dawn of the Dead, the original (this one is actually a 'serious' movie, as opposed to the Evil Dead movies that are parodies of B movies but at the same time still B movies...). Attack of the killer tomatoes is obviously a B movies too, same as The Toxic Avenger.
Similar to B movies are movies out of Hong Kong. Like pretty much all of Chow Yun Fat's flicks. A Better Tommorow, Hard Boiled, ect ect. They are stuffed full of cliches, but none the less supremely badass.
And on a side note that Campbell guy is coming out with a movie this summer I think, I cant wait. Ok my B movie rant is over. |

b00st,
Can you include a brief, one-sentence summary at the bottom of each of your posts? You know, something like...
SUMMARY
B movies are cool and the Evil Dead series is g00t!
This way, I don't have to stop for 20 minutes to read whenever you write something. I can just skip to your Summary and I still won't miss anything. |

Yes, when i was told about the movie in my thread about buying movies for every letter, I was so thrilled. When I watched the preview to the movie on DVD, I was just about ready to die laughing through the entire movie.
But EVERY funny part, which is 5 good lines, is in the preview.
The best preview to a movie ever. But the movie just lost it. |

I actually saw this in the theater.
Yor, the Hunter From the Future
Yor, an extremely blond prehistoric warrior, comes to question his origins, particularly with regard to a mysterious medallion he wears. When he learns of a desert goddess who supposedly wears the same medallion, Yor decides that he must find her and learn his true identity. Along the way, he encounters ape-men, dinosaurs, and a strange futuristic society. |
