1 - his pre-flop call is pretty loose/bad although you can make excuses for it if he has some kind of read on you (I'm guessing you'll say that he didn't). At least he's in position and has a lot of chips though.
2 - Why overbet the flop? I'm guessing to protect your hand - and I'm guessing he might read it as a bluff (or alternatively, he's just a station). Anyway his flop call is questionable but not horrible. Missed overcards are well in your range and he has good equity against even your overpairs.
3 - Given the size of the pot and the number of outs he has against most hands, plus the possibility you're going apeshit with AK or AQ, his turn call is justifiable. Maybe a little shaky. Definitely not the worst call I've ever seen. And also, nowhere close to half his stack.
Bottom line, this seems like pretty standard semi-loose/semi-bad play, not even close to the levels of retardation you see online on a constant basis. Standard beat - move on. |
