| Not being the best player in the world, and not having the largest of bankrolls, i have found myself playing mostly on freerolls. i would like to know other peoples opinions of freerolls. |

I've actually started a couple of bankrolls with freerolls. It's hard work and you have to really be committed to doing it. The general style of the play is erratic and insane, and you have to not allow the craziness to put you off your own style.
The trick with freerolls is NOT aiming for the final table. If you get there, great, but you want to get ITM, ITM and ITM. But that's what I've learned from freerolls, other people might have different opinions. |

| They can be a crapshoot from the few I have played, I noticed on two out of the 5 I played in that most players went AI with all hands, from the start, hoping to just keep doubling... and that seemed to work for for at least one of them. |

| When I was starting out I tried my luck with freerolls, but low M flipaments combined with extremely bad players (myself included obv.) were extremely frustrating and I hardly ever managed to slip ITM. Eventually I found Everest Poker hosting freeroll limit turbo SNGs paying 3 first places 5c 3c and 2c respectively and built from there (not sure if Everest still has these). |

| I play a few FR a day because im kind of in the same boat with you in terms of a small BR. I actually really like FR as a way to build the BR up. But it takes a lot...a lot...a lot...of PATIENCE..... and the wild and shove any two broad way cards and be frustrating at times and throw you off your game..dont let that happen and play solid TAGG poker and you will be surprized at how many times you make it ITM....oh and be very agg with your monsters and AK+ PF..they will make you a ton of chips in the long run playing FR... |

| They are the biggest waste of time you can find. Your better off just reading and posting. You won't learn shit from them, and they will frustrate the living hell out of you. Wait till you have $20 and just go play at Stars micro stake tourneys and S&G's. Start there. |

I don't play that many MTT''s generally, but the first time I ever made final table was a $50 freeroll on PStars. Started with 4800 players and took 6 hours before I went out in 5th place.
Went to check the payout schedule and found out I won about $7.50. Goes without saying that I didn't think my $1.30 per hour payday was worth my time. But a heck of a lot of fun it was anyway. |

| I don't often play them but i can see that for someone in your position they are good. You have too choose them carefully though. Go to a site where the prize is big and competition is low, smaller, younger site are good for this. Cardoza for example offer a weekly freeroll of £300 that is only open to there own players. they get very few players every single week. |

Ok so decon determined $1.3/hr, AND THAT'S WHEN HE WON!!!!!! Say you win 1 out of 5 (and you won't). Now you're talking less than 25c/hr.
Better ways to build a roll.
1) Work one extra hour a week
2) Cut some consumable out that saves you $5/week
3) Go to every convenience store in your town and take the pennies from the free penny tray
4) Panhandle (just don't ask me for change)
5) Whore yourself out (you would probably only have to do this once and have a roll bigger than any other beginner)
If you can't afford $20 then play with play chips and try to work your way up to the higher buy-ins. At least then you might gain enough confidence to part with your Jackson.
note: WTF, why did I just spend 10 min writing this post. Fuck. |

It won't necessarily help you with your game because almost everybody goes AI as soon as they've got a pocket pair or an A.
But for starting a bankroll or so, it might work. Didn't Chris Ferguson start with freerolls and made to 10k within 6 months? |

The password is azodrac, sorry for not posting it in time for last nights game.
it seems that there are a variety of opinions on free rolls. I hope that you don't allow those of others persuede you too much. If you like them and see reason, then thats fine. If not, them thats also cool. I think what is important is to find the game that is right for you, and right at that certain time. |

Freerolls aren't a waste of time when u make final table but it's so long sometimes to get into prizes, people are buying some time just to get 0.50$,i can't use to it |

| I myself truly enjoy freerolls because they are a chance to turn nothing into something and with good solid play, nothing really can become something. I have started up a few bankrolls from freerolls and then i always wreck the when i get it up to like 50-100 bucks because i go outside my bankroll parameters. Hopefully that will differ in the future. |
