Good lord. I actually read through quite a bit of those along with some of the winnings post. Very freakin' extensive.

I'll make this one quick since it's 1 AM & I'm quite tired.

I've been playing poker for several years now, really only seriously for about a year. I use to play at the casinos nearly nightly when I lived in Norman, OK, but since I've moved to Texas it's much more difficult. I use to believe my game was above-average at worst, but through pure torturous self-review, I'm unfortunately pretty terrible. The good news is, this forum can obviously help.

With that, you can find me on Stars primarily at this point in time under the name xBLeeDBLacKx. Always rockin' the micro-stakes.

At what stakes do you play? 2NL on Stars (Buildin' a micro roll) and 10NL at PH

How long have you been playing? Just over a year- first half of that casually.

Where do you mostly play? PS/PP/PH/FTP

Why did you come to FTR? To learn more about the game, and have a community to develop in.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? To be able to be BR'd to play live £1/2 FR (need about $6k), and you can help me to learn how to play good online [I still don't play great online lol]

What do you play? NL HE, cash and SnG.

At what stakes do you play? .5/.10 - .10/.25

How long have you been playing? 5-10 years. Depends. If you count the years I played penny poker with my family growing up, alot more Smile Poker was a big family thing every year... aunts, uncles, cousins, event the little ones could play if they had a pile of pennys.

Where do you mostly play? PokerStars. I also show up on FT every now and then.

Why did you come to FTR? Um... well... no comment.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? I do have goals. But I think I will keep those close to my chest. At a high level, I want to be a better player. I want to be the best I can be, given my ability and intellect.

Include more stuff if you want

I am generally very content with life.

I really hate forum haters/flamers. Arrogance in general is very annoying. I'm not a fan of Phil Hellmuth.

I have a black cat with three legs, 6 toes on each foot (no her name is not lucky Smile. She jumped on my lap while I was typing this. Speaking of which, I dont believe in luck, I dont believe in poker site conspiracies, I do believe in God. Regarding the later, we are all in a whole bunch of trouble Smile.

Hey Guys!

Name: Henry

Age: 18

What do you play and what stakes: Only Holdem - mainly SnG's maxing at around $20... i'm a student, it's all I can afford!!

How long have you been playing: Learnt from playing with my family many years ago, but know i've hit the legal age i can rip up the internet and casinos!

Where do you mostly play: PokerStars and occasionally FullTilt

Why did you come to FTR: Was previously a member of an alternative poker forum, but that died out and i searched for a bigger and better one... and here i am!

Do you have any goals: I play because i enjoy it and only play occasionally in the evening when i have spare time, so i don't have any major financial goals with it. I spose i'd just like to stay in the profit every month!

What do you play? no/limit holdem, no/limit omaha hi/lo, 5-card stud, and 5-card draw on occation. I'm mostly a holdem gal.

At what stakes do you play? Well concidering I don't have a full-time job I stick to the free-rolls and free sit-n-go's.

How long have you been playing? Well, I started about a year after me and my bf met. He's really good he's played for roughly 5 years. He's no Brunson or anything but concidering he made a living off playing I think he's good. He introduced me into the books and started buying them for my IPhone. (handy btw) I enjoy playing with him and his friends. All guys btw. Well, when I first started I'd always get frustraited cuz they all play online and in casinos and were SO much better then me. But, one year later I started the online sites and read the books watched tourneys on WSOP. I kicked there flamming butts. haha Not really gay I was just so excited winning $40 haha. Big stacks right??

Where do you mostly play? Full Tilt and PokerStars I've been playen online SO much and still to this day I haven't one one sit n go or freeroll or daily dollar. I'll admit not often people win thoughs. But I'd seem to get to that final table about 7 out of 10 time (ALOT) but some donk seems to go all in with Q 6 off suite with my AQ suited and get me EVERYTIME. ugh.. I need to chill. Haha well usually I don't stay mad for long but, all this talk about people that run these site have been corrupting the tournys and cheating so that's one other reason I stick to the freerolls.

Why did you come to FTR? Well I noticed the private tournaments and did a little search and well I browsed the site and thought I should join for advise and talk oh and you can't forget the passwords to the tournaments too.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? My goal right now isn't going pro but getting confortable buying-in and when I turn 21 take the bank with them donks here in Oklahoma. BTW there DONKS. If any one out there needs fast cash and are at least my level haaha which is low, I promise you'll make BANK!! It's just too bad all Casinos here are Indian 21 and older.

What do you play?

No Limit Holdem, of course!

At what stakes do you play?

After playing at as high as the 200 NL (at my on line debut) I am now playing at the 10 NL.

How long have you been playing?

I have been playing variations of poker since I was a teenager, with friends with moderate success, leaning to slightly winning, if you allow me the expression. I have made attempts online, every now and then. loosing everithing in a short period of time.
At the begining of this year, I started playing on line and what happened was, I won for a day or two say 200$ and the third day loosing everything and reusing my credit card. After loosing something like 2000$, money that since I am a father of 3, I cant spend just like that but also the fact that I believed that there is something more at poker than just luck, I decided to make a little reaserch about it. And then I found out what you people already know (I know you heard this story before...) Poker is knowledge and skill that you get by studing and playing thousands of hands and rethinking hands and so on...

Where do you mostly play? Party Poker

Why did you come to FTR? I have come to a point that I try to play the right way, so I play at the stakes according to my bankroll. I have stopped tilting to loosing all, so my bankroll fluctuates between 230 to 170 $. I have reached a wall, wich means I have to learn more (since I am 43 I know this is a fact of life, always learning) I already found very interesting stuff here, like eg opinions about hands.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? I am good above average at the things I do for a living because I believed in these tings and I made a lot of effort to become good and it took me a lot of time. Thus, I know that the same applies with poker. My goal is, to play succesfuly at the 100 NL I don't know If I would want to move on higher, If the time come we will see.

One more thing. I hate those terrible people who don't know how to loose and swear at you in the chatbox. Mostly I think they are wannabes that think they know everything from reading a poker book or something. some of them are really good, some of them not really. THe fact is one though. I hate what they're doing. I know that it doesnt matter, I can silent the chat, that it is good that they get angry etc. However, I get so angry and feel like I must teach them a lesson and I even end up loosing hands with them something like I have the under straight and I raised all in the river, cause I wanted to teach them alesson so much that I lost my concentration and DID NOT SEE the over straight.

I hope form within this forum this will change.

See ya

What do you play?
Short Cash games -Texas holdem limit, starting now also playing No limit and PLO. With freeroll tournaments anything goes Razz, Texas, Omaha, 8-Ball, Horse, Bagudi etc.
At what stakes do you play? With limit Grinding through 0.05/0.10, moving to 0.10/0.20
next week. Really newbie in no limit cash games, started this week lol. Playing 4NL.
Seems to be going quite well thou.
Play quite often those .10 cent 360 player turbo tournaments, 90 player sitngoes etc.
Tried also that FTR Gauntlet first time last sunday(?), was fun and did't do too bad lol. Also play live with my friends once a month at my place(I have a nice table Smile and some freeroll bar games.

How long have you been playing?
1.5 years
Where do you mostly play?
PokerStars(limit texas and tournaments/sitngoes), 24hPoker(no limit texas)

Why did you come to FTR?
Mostly to learn about the game and learn to make profit, Which seems to be working. Limit texas section here has been really helpful for me. Thanks guys!
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)?
Start posting here lol. Yeah, have been around for a while already, but I think it's time for me also start posting.
And of course to improve my games etc. Just started habit really going through
my played hands after a session, posting interesting hands to pokerhand site
and making notes of them. Other people's comments could be quite useful for some
tricky hands.
Goals with my game would be 1) keeping my disipline with BR management(which I've done really well for last half of a year, I'm steadily going up.) 2) avoiding tilts (don't play when on bad mood, drunk or busy with other stuff - that's also quite well under control) 3) griding through the micro limits with limit poker by the end of this year. With No limit my current goals is to get to 10NL soon. With tournaments I'd like
to start make some profit too lol. But it's been improving, making it to final table more often.

Anything else?
I'm not using PokerTracker yet, gonna get it in future - but I do get some statistics
from my and other players games with my own perl script that goes through my hand histories.

Wow, lots of text I wrote. Anyways I've been enjoying FTR alot, and hopefully I can
contribute my part to the site in future to make it even better.

Hey all, have been reading for a while, decided to to sign up.
I'm from Canada, haven't played online for quite sometime now due to time, work, $ , poker hating gf's...lol so figured I would give it another go. I used to play mainly lower stakes, highest I ever reached was $100NL, looks like I will be starting back at $25NL for until I can grow my BR a little (hopefully). Should be able to start logging at least 10 hours a week for now and we'll see where it goes from there.

What do you play? At the moment I play 6-max limit hold'em and $1 sng. I want to move to NL once I find my feet.

At what stakes do you play? 0.25/0.50

How long have you been playing? About 3 months now.

Where do you mostly play? I found the link on FTR for PokerRoomSchool and started there. Once you show progress they send you over to CDPoker and give you $50 free!

Why did you come to FTR? I had started playing online and soon realised I needed to learn the game properly. A little searching brought me here.

Do you have any goals? To never need to make a deposit!! A little ambitious maybe but why start small? Wink
A smaller goal is just to learn all I can. I will gratefully receive any advice.

I should be further down the line in my poker career than i am.Ive lacked discipline and have ignored bankroll mangement from day one,and havent studied the game as much as i should have, just been a bit lazy i suppose. This is all behind me now so looking to show more discipline and be in it for the longer haul rather thn trying to make the quick buck over night Laughing

Why did you come to FTR? The articles and videos are excellent and hope to improve my game a lot. Hopefully become good enough one day to be able to contribute to some of the discussions, but for the mean time I'll just be reading and learning.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)?
1. To be able to put my opponent on ranges, and be able to narrow their holding right down on further streets.
2. Make a tonne of money, but for the moment increase my BR.
3. Dominate the home games, and make it out that it's all down to luck.lolz

Hello all.

Name: Ben

Age: 20

Hey fellow FTR players. I am a member of a couple other forums but after watching some of Renton's and BigSpenda's videos and looking thru this forum, I decided to join.

I have been playing for 5 years... but only 1 seriously and not as a complete idiot

I am currently at 10NL after my first failed 25NL shot, so always tons of room for improvement. Guess that's about it.

What do you play? On Line; all Poker games short of Badugi

At what stakes do you play? Finding my skill/buy-in range

How long have you been playing? Live games; @30 years, On Line; 30 Days.

Where do you mostly play? Foxwoods, Borgata, Trump Taj, FTP, Stars, Absolute Poker.

Why did you come to FTR? I like the format here, and the attitude, for lack of a better term, in the threads.

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Get a handle on a more regimented game plan for my online game.

I’m like Mr. Mom on steroids. I had a contracting company in NYC till 9-11 when I lost my best customer, tower II. I retired early, sold my company and did a lot of wreck diving and worked on my golf game till my woman had twins in 07. Now I enjoy being a full time Popason and playing NLH on line.

At first I dropped a few grand feeling out the differences from a live game and online, not to worry, its like ½ tank of gas for the Hatteras. Now I’m learning from you guys to put a more patient spin on my game.

I would like to thank those responsible for the creation and maintenance of the site.

I wish everybody a healthy and happy. Make a great day.

What do you play? NLHE mostly, though I enjoy PLO, 5 Card Draw and badugi.

At what stakes do you play? Mostly $2-$5 mtt

How long have you been playing? Around 18 months

Where do you mostly play? PokerStars, pub, friends house, and I'm about to attempt to build a bankroll from nothing on Full Tilt.

Why did you come to FTR? Honestly? Because I found your mtt at PokerStars, wanted to play, and joined so I could get the password. I was lured by the $300 PokerStars added to the pool! I might as well stick around and see what I can learn, I appear to have stumbled upon a very useful tool...

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? My goal is simple... continually improving my game.

A couple of my room mates were quite into poker and they suggested I make an account to play with them. About half a year ago I registered on PokerStars and played play money for a while. PS eventually gave me $5 which i put to playing $1.10 45 person sngs, and turned it into $60. I then cashed and deposited $30 on FTP. I didn't realize there wasn't a good $1 tourney on FTP, and have been trying my luck at the $3 knock out or micro ring games. So far on FTP I've only been able to barely break even, even though I am playing my best poker. I know I am outplaying my bankroll with the $3, but I have the option of either depositing more or continuing to play $3 and then using micro ring games to break even if i get knocked out.

As it was I am only playing poker for fun, but wouldn't mind building a bankroll and actually making some money. I have read sklansky's advanced hold'em, as well as Matthew Hilger's book about internet limit hold'em. I recently found FTR and thought there was quite a bit of great material here, so figured I'd register and introduce myself.

There are a lot of poker specific abbreviations here, and I can decipher some of them, but not all. Is there anywhere that explains what they all mean? I don't know if this is the right section, but I figured I might as well ask.

Hi, my name is Joey and I came from the Philippines. I"ve been playing poker for the past eight months online and I haven"t tried playing on a live tourney. FullTilt & PokerStars are the sites I usually play and sometimes at Jbet. MTT AND CASH games are my favorites. My poker goal is to be a professional poker player someday.

Holdem

At what stakes do you play?
Small stakes online but with friends around 1/2

How long have you been playing?
Once every few months with friends, but started playing quite regularly online from last month.

Where do you mostly play?
PokerStars

Why did you come to FTR?
Got to know of it from PokerStars (more under my goals)

Do you have any goals (and how can we help)?
Set myself a goal of getting from $0 to $100. Ultimately it's to brush up my poker skills while not "paying" too much "tuition fees". Hence to get my bankroll started off, I've been reading around for freerolls - that's how I got to know of FTR. Would appreciate any advice. Laughing

and ive been playing NL Texas holdem for about 4-5 yrs online and about 2-3 years live. and i dont play at limits higher than a 100 dollar buyin or 1/2$ cash games.. ive profited alot more off of live games than online poker but have been progressing alot lately..
i think the way that u guys can help is just post alot of information kinda in order .. like early tournament play style throught middle and later play styles and describes the patterns for each possition in those different tournament time periods and blind structures Wink.. I hope to get a little feed back.. thanks a million----valientone

How long have you been playing? Started last summer, but quit when uni started. Started up again a few weeks ago.
Where do you mostly play? Full Tilt
Why did you come to FTR? Came across FTR from a google search last week. Been an active lurker since.
Do you have any goals (and how can we help)? Right now I'd just like to graduate from donksville university and build my bankroll up a little. I intend to post a bunch of HHs now and then to get some advice. I was planning to do that today but I had to format by drives due to a nasty virus that stopped anything but safe mode from loading so I lost all my HHs.

Ultimately I'd like to be able to make a steady increase in my bank roll consistently. If I had to put a number on it I guess I'd like to increase it by a few thousand dollars a year. Because I'm a student it'd be a nice cushion to have if (or rather when) my student loan dries up near the end of a semester. Although realistically I could very well have graduated by the time I'm good enough.
