It was getting to the point any time i raised or bet they all folded, any time they didn't i would be beaten. This hand happened in a cursed seat that I just couldn't win in. This lifted the curse and I proceeded to hit a hot streak and reclaim my 50BBs
You're right though, on a second glance the play is very basic and wouldn't do very well ona table with good players. Most of these were any two card players from memory (arn't they all?) |

It's basic because it's pure value. You're throwing away money by checking here, any players, any table. With 2BB in the pot, you're getting 4 to 1 as a semi-bluff. You will make a flush or a pair of Aces nearly half the time, so 2 callers should be at least break even, 3 callers pure value. Finally, you're building a bigger pot, making a pair of Queens more inclined to call if you hit your hand. Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Money!
edit: Also, if you can fold out the button, betting the flop might set up a free river card if you miss and they check to you on the turn. This play isn't as obvious as the raise the flop trick, hence more likely to actually work. |

| I've hit 2 since using Poker Tracker. Both were the wheel, oddly enough. |

| Yeah I agree as I said this was my "bogey" table so I wasn't playing my a+ poker, I play weak tight when the tables killing me which adds to the problem but after getting outdrawn hand after hand and every draw missing its hard to resist. |
