I basically only play HU online these days and I fell like it has been making me play live full ring or 6+at times kinda poorly and either calling a little to light or just doing kinda dumb shit.
Limped pot 4 way with $5 straddle, I have from MP.
Flop comes
SB, who recently joined table when the 2 tables combined leads for $20. I have like $475 and he has at least that much and he seems to be decent at least and not one of the crazy gamblers. It folds around to me with 1 to act behind who seems like he's gonna fold.
I flat call.
Turn is .
He leads for $60 and I just call.
River is
He checks and I make it $80.
Is it bad to not raise flop or turn? I wanted to raise flop but if he shoves I am gonna puke getting it in this deep. Am I overthinking this? |

| You should be willing to go broke here without puking. |

| Hmm, I think on this hand I was overcompensating for getting ti in kinda lightish a couple times recently. 240bbs is different than 100, no? |

$5 straddle makes your stack 95BB eff and you should treat it as such. |

What in your words is the difference between a straddle and a blind?
More to the point, what's the difference between a 2/5 game and and 1/2 game? |

Somewhat. Effective stack size is also effected by players opening for 5x or more (and getting action), loose calls on early streets will also bloat the pot and reduce the effective stack size.
Anyway, the straddle's impact on the effective stakes of the game is somewhat mitigated because your opener that can expect to get action from worse hands and poor players will be a smaller multiple of the straddle than it would be of the big blind.
Measuring the size of a game/stacks just by the size of the big blind is often misleading and I agree that lots of "deep" live spots aren't really that deep when you consider all of the pot bloat going on. |

| I see what your saying. The 1/2 game live plays effectively like a 2/5 as most opening raises are $12-15 and with lots of straddling. I overthought this spot and although yeah I am not really deep, losing a $950 pot hurts alot more than a $400 pot obviously. |

| I think a smooth call on the flop is risky with potential straight and flush draws (remember sets are not guarantees) so a raise on the flop and then a decent bet on the turn is in order. If the board is total rags I can see waiting to the turn to make the move (by then the TAGs will know it's a set and get out then). |
