this guy was seeing 85% flops, i'm not kidding

So this dude was up to about $1400 on the 2-4 tables, and when I sit down and see that a player has a 3.5x buyin stack, I'm paying most of my attention to him. After watching him for awhile, I couldn't even believe how many flops he was seeing. I mean the phrase calling station had nothing on this guy. He could not stand to not be involved in a pot, no matter what. And to top it off, he was probably the most consistently passive player I've seen. He wasn't calling pre flop then betting out post flop, he was calling down to Chinatown. But when he did bet, he'd bet the pot on flush and straight draws.

The funny thing about this guy was that he really defined the table environment. He was passive to a point where he was actually a dominant figure on the table, controlling EVERY hand because he was in just about all of them. In a way, it really was challenging, because you really had to play around him. Like you had to look at your cutoff raises pretty seriously, for example. I've never played more multiway pots in 6MAX, and it made me feel like hitting full ring tables again for awhile to brush up a bit.

Good news is I was able to find him on a few tables throughout the week and made a point to track my hands against him, ended up making just over $1k off of him. Of course it was other people's money that he was passing onto me, I'm sure, but I had to see him go through at least $3k and I wasn't even playing with him for more than a few hours. I'll try to find a good example of a HH coming up this weekend and post back, if I see him at a table again, that is.
