the other person was more foolish calling that raise on the flop with a low pair, and calling the all in against a double flush draw.

Except that it seems clear the other guy put Rippy on a bluff. Making it a good call. And, in some sense, a bad beat.

If he put Rippy on a bluff he should have re-raised with low pair, He gave rippy a free card AND another chance to bluff, so calling was definately not the right play in my book.

Exactly, I've never understood just calling a bluff before the river. If they bluff the flop, they're gonna bluff the turn. Your chips are going in, so why not take the driver seat?
