I've discovered this forum yesterday, and it was love at first sight.
I'm quite new to the game, have been studying more than playing.
I read a few sng strategies posts from rad, dav and ripp.
Today, I decided to give it a try at a $5+0.5 sng at Poker Stars.
When the table was four-handed, I was far the smallest stack. I loosened my game, started to steal blinds frequently (what was not working before) and pushing all-in post flop.
Long story short, I ended in first for $22.50
Hey, it was my first, guys
Thank You! |

Welcome to the board, and congrats!
Let's hope there's more where that came from. |

Yeah, I definitely owe you
after that 1st place, I took 4 times 2nd place in a row (once was unbeliavable, as I was short stacked at t500 with blinds at 100/200, and doubled up 2 times in a row lol).
Imagine how amazed I was...
Unfortunately, I believe I ran into some overconfident state of mind, and got busted in the bubble 8 times in a row. Besides the overconfidence, I felt I was not playing right, as I played one tourney after another, and was very tired and feeling asleep.
I gave it a break, slept, went back to my readings, and got a 3rd place in the last sng played. That's my weekend story.
Despite my bad streak, I found myself constantly as a chip leader/3rd biggest stack max. Thinking about my moves I can see I was precipitated in a few of them, or kind of "blind" where I should be aware of the opponent style of play.
But, I'm studying, and learning a lot, what's essencial.
Thx |
