His quote "i have to hate my opponents to be able to play against them" was easy for me last night. I played with some miserable sons of bitches, and it was easy to play hard against them.

It's nice winning their money, but there's nothing worse than playing poker with a bunch of jealous, sore losing, gamblers.

Anyway, I'm reading Barry Greenstein's book, and it made me want to post.

On the other hand, have you ever played a friendly game with family and friends for like 5$ buy in winner take all? It's pretty awful having to make plays on my little brother who is like 15 when i just wanna say "Don't call man you're gonna bust out i have a hand this time."

I have actually checked a flopped full house on the river against a good friend when i had already taken half his stack on the flop/turn in the first hand of a 10$ buy in tournament, just because i felt bad and didn't want to see him leave on the first hand. Thats why i like playing in the internet Very Happy

yea in little piss ant tournaments like $5-10 buyin among a few friends that are still learning straights lose to flushes, I don't play hard at all really, they won't let me anyways (they call everything).

I once bluffed a girl on the river and she called me with K high, and won, then she said "oh, wow, i didnt expect that"

I can gamble for a good time with people who enjoy it, when the stakes are low enough, but there definitely is a line drawn when it's time to switch on your "A" game.

Mike Caro says, "...to always compliment your poor players, you wouldn't want them to take the initiative to get any better, would you?"

I understand what you're saying, but their money goes into the bank just like the good players money.
