I thought I was behind on the flop but I was actually 62%. I ended up pushing and good things happened.

| Very nice. That's the way to break those overpairs with suited connectors. Overshoving seems a bit extreme though... I probably just make it $2.40 and go from there. That way, you can induce a shove by AK and worse flush draws (AcJc is only 40% here but is surely shoving over a raise). |

| With stacks that deep, you don't have to fold a hand like 54s to a preflop raise in a cash game. I probably would fold it to the 5x EP raise that we see here, but I flat a lot in this situation (suited connectors on the button) to a smaller raise or a raise from later position. There are a lot of flops that give us great implied odds (45x, 44x, 55x, A23, 236, 367), nice combo draws (as here), or spots where we can knock out a better hand with our position (e.g. AKx flop vs QQ- after a check). Heck, I might even flat here as OP did. |
