I'm unsure if I did this right.. was the smooth call pre-flop smart? Should I raise the flop or just call? I think I scared him off and could have possibly got more money off of him by continuing to call, but im not sure about that..

A smoothcall is fine becuase you can pray on the continuation bet and you don't get stuck on an AKx flop. I'd probably be like 50/50 between raising and calling preflop.
