My first thought after looking at this is that I should have pushed much harder preflop. I was at least a 90% favorite to win this one....

I hate KK.
That's about how I would have played it, although you are right, it would have been better to put in a bigger preflop raise. The problem is that most people don't respect a 2x - 3x preflop raise, especially the fish that swim around early in the tournament. And especially if they are in the big blind, they feel they can't just fold when they already have 15 in there. Not sure what the buy in is for this one, but I am guessing it was a relatively low buy in based on the hilarious guy calling you with a pair of 9's with a weak kicker. I mean, what did he think you had? J9? This is obviously a guy to buddy list or at least take a note on. Seriously, I don't even understand how people like this can be playing poker unless they are brand spanking new and haven't learned a lesson yet.
Just seeing this makes me feel sick because KK has killed me recently. |

| This can't really be considerd a bad beat, you handed the guy the hand. Early in a tourney you need to raise to get these people out of the hand, you may get no action but its better then losing and knocking yourself out. |

Rad,
Come on? I don't think the pot was exactly handed to him. Look at this flop betting.... If you are in GAISfan's position, what would you do with a pair of 9's and a Q kicker? Would you not be concerned that just maybe Squeak2k2 has an overpair? Or maybe hit trips on something? I know it's easy to say that knowing what Squeak actually had, but come on, look at the betting. Even if it wasn't played 100% perfectly preflop, this guy got lucky on the river, no question. |

I have to agree with flying sauces on this one, yes its true that the bet pre flop could have been bigger but the guy got lucky on the river no question about it.

| yeah he got lucky on the river, but preflop determined this hand, after the guy caught his kicker as top pair he wasn't gonna fold out. |

| I hate KK, so badly that I tend to overbet it. I would've pushed to as much as 100 preflop. |

Isnt this the reason people slow play top pair, so someone can hit TP and continue betting even though they are beat??...
I think this was pretty unlucky because the guy was beat and pott comitted, he just got lucky on the river Rad, its as simple as that.
Slowplaying cowboys isnt advisable, but he should have come on top anyways

There was no missplay here. He lead him on a bit and got all the money in as the favorite. If you can't gamble as the favortie, when can you?
It just sucks to be Squeak when all the cards have fallen.

I find it hard to find the right raise amt for AA/KK at the first few levels. You bet 100 probably no callers. I agree with flying and elanto - for the most part a bad beat. I would have bet a bit more, maybe 50-75 unless I had a read on the table and thought I could get called for more than that
In general, I'll either raise more OR be more willing to lay down a big hand after the flop if I semi-slowplay it(not applicable to this hand obviously). |

| Are we all reading the same hand history? Squeak2k2 got this guy to put all his money in when the guy was drawing to 5 outs with 1 card to come, how is this anything but good play? |
